GARDEN OF EDEN

In the mythic story, Adam (whose name means clay), is made out of the clay of the earth and awoken with the breath of life. This story can symbolize our connection with the earth. The molecules that make up our bodies originate in the earth. Plants draw them up from the soil. We eat those plants and use these same molecules to make our bodies.

But Adam has two parts. His clay body is sculpted from the earth. But he also has an invisible self: thoughts, emotions, spirit, and soul – in the story this invisible self is described as the breath of God.
